Business 2.0 - 50 Who Matter Now

Just read the cover story of the recent business 2.0 (ist already a couple of days old). Its titled '50 Who Matter Now - The Most Influential Players'. On the cover are Bill Gates (no 21. of the 50), Larry and Sergey (No 2) as well as Steve Jobs (5). Which makes you curious who is number one, right?

So, the story starts with No. 50, who is Blake Krikorian (Sling Media - the cool devices that allow you to connect your TV to the Internet and then to watch your local TV via the internet from anywhere...).Jeff Bezos would be 42.

No. 29 is Danny Rimer. The text says: 'His firm, Index Ventures,... is regarded as the Kleiner Perkins of Europe - the VC firm every entrepreneur wants to land'. Congrats Danny! Stellar performance! Vinod Khosla is 'only' no. 33 in this feauture, btw.

No. 22 is Reid Hoffman. 'Want to launch a web 2.0 startup? Be prepared to kiss Hoffman's ring. ... If he likes your idea, good fortune is likely to follow. If he doesn't, it may be time to rethink your business plan.' Or to rethink yourself, since people most often invest not only in an idea but in the people behind it... however, congrats Reid!

No. 9 are 'The new Oil Despotes', Vladimir Putin among them. Errr, congrats Vladimir!

No. 3 is Paul Jacobs, the Qualcomm CEO, No. 2 as already mentioned the Google guys and No. 1... is YOU! 'The Consumer as Creator'. ... You, or rather, the collaborative intelligence of tens of millions of peole, the networked you- continually create new forms of content. ... None of this should be a surprise, since it was you - your crazy passions and hobbies and obsessions - that built out the Web in the first place.'

I think that's a pretty cool twist of the story... congrats Business 2.0! :)
